ReProgram Cobra XRS 9930

Hello, I´m Portuguese and sorry for my 1st post to be in English, but i can´t write in Spanish, only understand a bit...

I have a Cobra XRS 9930 and it seems, and after i read the FAQ in the www.todoradares.com now i know i have made a bad buy!...

and my question is there anyway to reprogram the Cobras, any cobras, even if i have to open detector literaly, to reprog? Change the Ka to 34,360 and deactivate the 34,700? other way i will have no use for it in Portugal/Spain....

Help!?

Hello Vox,

Unfortunately the Cobras are not reprogramable and much less change its scanning from Ka superwide to narrow 34,3GHz Ka so that its usefull for Postugal and Spain. There is simply no solution for a Cobra.

Best thing you can do is sell it on eBay to someone in NorthAmerica, but you won't get much for it since the Cobras are really cheap there, for 120$ you can get a 9930.

Yep thats what i thought... Ebay probably the only solution for the cobra.

by the way, i what to by a fixed radar detector in spain, can you point me a reliable reseller with good prices...? and in your opinion whats the best fixed radar detector for spain/portugal, i think the police use the same speed detectors...

I would recomend a Bel975 or a Bel966. The difference is that the Bel975R picks up the 35,5GHz band used in Spain but not in Portugal, and the Bel966 picks up the Ku band used in some countries in Europe but neither Spain nor Portugal. Also the Bel975 is a bit cheaper to get. Read more about them on the web page www.todoradares.com.
